The exterior is 99% complete in these shots. The interior is wired. We are ready to insulate, panel the interior walls and install the Pergo floors.
The unit is designed for living on the first floor which is 8' X 8' , and Sleeping and clothing storage in the second story loft which is 8'X 8' X 4' high and very roomy. The unit is designed for two people maximum and is available for both off the power grid or on the power grid living. Their is optional solar heating, electricity, and hot water available.

The exterior of our test off the power grid micro home is complete with the exception of the front steps. When the rain stops we will photograph it and publish the photos on this site.

The interior only requires insulation batts, wall paneling and the Pergo floor. We will be finished soon. Several people have offered to move in and test it already, lol!

After recently receiving huge amounts of mail I have finally arrived at a decision about the Micro Home Business. We are going to move forward on a nation-wide basis. We will offer homes that are both on and off the power grid and of various sizes. They will all be our own custom super energy efficient designs, very reasonably priced, and with optional solar electricity, hot water, and heat. I have forty years in the solar business, and know how to design economically priced solar energy systems. In short, our goal is to produce the best and most reasonably priced Micro Home possible. It will have a one year warranty against defective material and workmanship. Anyone who knows either me, or my companies knows how I operate. We have always been totally honest and fair with our customers and have always sold for the lowest possible prices. Just ask our tractor customers!

We have found that we can build and sell these micro homes in the smaller two person sizes for less than$10,000.00 dollars, and we intend to do it. Larger models will of course be more money.

I am seeking people that are interested in starting their own Micro Home manufacturing shop using our designs and our solar and other energy saving products. Anyone that does this with us will have to meet certain conditions including having a fully equipped work shop that can be set up specifically for building these units. A contract will be involved to meet our code specifications, materials used, and non compete conditions. You will be dealing with a nationally branded housing product. Agreements must be signed etc.

Please, if you do not have operating capital and a sufficient indoor workshop do not apply.

More On LIght Emitting Diodes and The Micro Home by Walt Barrett

We have virtually sold out our supply of LED 3 watt = 40 watt light bulbs. We have re-ordered more bulbs, and also sample of some double the power kitchen floods etc. We will have to test them here for brightness before offering them for sale. They look very promising. We can get bulbs that draw the following wattage's 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 12 watts and of course, they yield much brighter light than their wattage's indicate they would.
We expect to have the micro home roofed and fully sided weather permitting by Monday Oct 13, 2008. Photos will be published on this site.
