The New Energy Saving Light Emitting Light Bulbs Are Now On Sale by Walt Barrett

Our new Light Emitting Diode light bulbs are now on sale.
This 120 volt powered bulb draws only 3 watts of power but it equals a 40 watts conventional light bulb. This bulb is the exact same unit that we are using in our new totally off the power grid micro home. It is 75% more efficient than a conventional light bulb and easily three times more efficient than the new energy saving fluorescent bulbs that have been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show etc. These units can be ordered in 120 volt A/C household current, or in 12 volt DC current (currently special order) to run directly from solar modules. These bulbs have 60 light emitting diodes in them with a life cycle of 50,000 hours! This is a special introductory offer at only $14.95 each plus shipping. The normal price is as high as $36.95 per 120 volt bulb. They fit the standard 120 volt light sockets. Save up to half of your electric bill.

No other lights or flash were used to make the above test photos

The Micro Home Lighting System by Walt Barrett

Sorry for the long delay but we have been very busy shipping out generators. It's that time of the year. Now we are sold out so we can get back to the micro home project by the weekend.
We have received the shipment of LED light bulbs from the factory and they are excellent. I have one in my desk lamp and it is super and easy on my eyes too. I like the fact that it only draws 3 watts and the life span is tested to 50,000 hours. Each bulb should save over $40.00 a year based on only a six hour day.
There a little pricey at 14.95 for our 60 LED globe model, but they will pay for themselves in saved electricity in several months of operation, and then it's all profit for 50,000 hours! The battery system will be able to run them for hours and hours at 3 watts. They are a great addition to our micro home test bed!
We should be ready to finish the micro home interior in about a week.
Stay tuned,

Inexpensive Micro Home Power System Inverters by Walt Barrett

We are just a few days away from installing the roofing and siding for the micro home. Between heavy rain, and a heavy shipping schedule John and me have had very little time to work on the micro home for days.
One great piece of information though is that we have picked up a line of inverters that can supply 3000 watts of 120 volts AC from a 12 volt battery.
We will be using one on our micro home. The price is very good at only $275.00 for 3000 watts, $195.00 for 2000 watts and $140.00 for 1500 watts. Shipping is extra. These work great with solar battery packs, and they have all kinds of built in protection. They are 85% efficient which is not bad considering they have built in cooling fans. I can send full specs to anyone who request them at .
There is a video of the micro home on my Pickens Plan web site.
If anyone wants to join write to me for a free invitation. It's a great place to learn about free energy.
More coming soon.

A New Blog On the Pickens plan by Walt Barrett

I have started a new Blog on the Pickens plan web site in order to add to the great content needed to draw attention to this site. This is a site where you can learn a great deal about saving energy and building your own energy saving products. It is also where we can build up a great deal of clout to force our Congress to do something about the energy mess we are in.
So please come and join me on this great new site. Please contact me at this link and I will send you a personal invitation to join and become a friend of Mr. Pickens.
Mr. Pickens has gone to a great deal of effort to establish this site for us. Let's not let him down!
This blog will continue here as usual.

More wiring of the micro home by Walt Barrett

Now that all of the electrical boxes are in and hardwired We have started to install all of the plug sockets etc. This won't take long because in a tiny off the grid micro home there are only about a dozen boxes to do, but they have to be done right and follow the local electrical codes. We are very busy of course and the project is lagging, but we have already gained a wealth of information The solar power system will be up and working well before the interior is finished. This will give us plenty of light to work by.

Photos coming shortly.

I have now decided on a composting toilet that will directly feed a composting bin with earthworms under the building. It will be similar to the on in the Bronx Zoo in New York City. We will build it our selves, and will detail the construction with photos etc. We expect it to be odor free with our stack design, we'll see. And now its off to work on the micro home.
